Set of illustrated japanese cards bought in Kyoto. Lovely. And a lovely box to carry them in.

these Ukiyo-E playing cards are special as we picked them up in Akita (north of japan) in a 300 year old samurai house which was amazingly preserved. from the gift shop, not gypsied out from a display or nuffin'.

"just keep swimming....just keep swimming....."
whilst not 'strictly' japanese playing cards, these fishy cards are like a trip to the aquarium, on a glass bottomed boat with your head hanging off the side, being all sickly.
Holographic, like the future, they are lovely to look at but a pain to play with, as the "HOLOSHEEN" means holding a large run in one's hand, is a tricky beast. Eventually they slip from your grasp exposing your knowledge and power in a game of wills.
